They had my computer two weeks. After the first couple days and two to three hours of work (I'm assuming I never got an exact time since I communicated with the owner and his assistant was doing the work) already into my PC they still hadn't figured out what was wrong. So I'm in about approx. $200 + already for the diagnostics. (Again I never got an exact figure because the owner didn't know for sure) The assumption at that point was probably the motherboard was bad and the total for the work to replace the MB would be between $500-$600 dollars. I said to go ahead with the work. (I was already out $200-300 I'm guessing-was told in terms of hours put in) When the work was completed I had to ask three times on what model of motherboard they put in my computer. I was told the first time it cost $170. Later after I did some research on NewEgg and TigerDirect I found out the same model was around $90. When I told the owner this he told me with shipping it cost them approx. $130 Needless to say my PC runs great now. They did put allot of time into trying to figure out if the board was bad, why I don't know. I just feel I got royally screwed over on the total cost of $600 for putting in a $90 motherboard. When my PC was dropped off I had to ask for my old motherboard which was sitting in his vehicle. He forgot to bring in.? He also forgot to bring me my work order/receipt on the work completed. There was also no warranty on the work they completed that was brought to my attention. My 2 cents work here is to shop around and get a definate price max on diagnostics up front. Then you can decide on if you want the work done or not. For what I paid I could of bought a brand new PC with upgraded processor minus the graphics board. !!
